You are your child's first teacher!
These are items you can practice at home to support your child's learning.

Self-Help Skills
*use bathroom independently
*zip/button shirts, pants, coat
*tie shoes
*ask an adult for help when needed

*ask your child to follow 2-3 step directions
*have your child help with simple chores at home
*keep a consistent bed time (7:00-8:00 pm is appropriate for most kindergartners)
*make sure your child has a good breakfast each day (breakfast is provided free for kindergartners at 7:40)

Reading/ Language
*read books everyday!
*write name
*name and write letters and say their sounds
*practice high frequency words we have learned

*count forward by 1s, 2s, 5s, and 10s
*count backward by 1s
*name and write numbers 0-100
*notice shapes and patterns in the world around us
